Statues of FFF, Association of Professionals Practicing Family Therapy
FFF, Félag Fagfólks í Fjölskyldumeðferð is a non profit association of professionals practicing family therapy in Iceland.
Article 1
The name of the Association is Association of Professionals practicing psychotherapy, (Félag fagfólks í fjölskyldumeðferð, FFF) the principal office of the Association shall be in the City of Reykjavík, Iceland.
Article 2
The FFF has two categories of members, professional and student members.
The criteria for membership are:
- Professional; a University degree or equivalent and specific post training in family therapy. Members shal be or have been practitioners of family therapy.
- Student; members shall be in training in family therapy.
Article 3
The objectives of the FFF are:
- to provide a common ground for professional practitioners of family therapy and those who have practiced family therapy.
- to work towards defining the professional obligations and standards of professional practice of family therapy practitioners.
- to work towards offering a program of study in family therapy in this country
- to work towards obtaining legalization of title of Family Therapist.
- to disseminate information and offer continuing education, information and education to practitioners of family therapy, as well as to the public of consumers of services and others that have an invested interest in the subject.
- to foster international cooperation and interchange of ideas with similar association in this and other countries.
Article 4
The Board of the FFF is elected during the General Assembly of the FFF and serves for two consecutive years.
The President- Elect is elected by the general assembly every other year and serves as such for two years at the end of which she/he serves as President for two year.
Others officers of the Board are, secretary, treasurer, vice president and Co-officer.
The Board shall decide how they allocate the offices between them. Two extra Board members are elected during the assembly as well, thus the Board consists of five members of the FFF and two extra members.
The President and President elect for the most part responsible for external relations but appoint along with the general assembly delegates responsible for specific external relations.
Article 5
The general assembly is held no later then October each year where all general assembly business will be processed.
Members shall receive invitation to the meeting with the agenda by mail or e mail no less then two weeks before the meeting.
The fiscal year of the FFF is from the 1 of October until the 30. September.
A certified auditor reviews all records of the FFF before the meeting.
Article 6
Committees within the FFF shall give reports on their work to the General Assembly.
Article 7
The annual dues of the FFF are decided by the Governing Board and proposed to the general assembly each year.
Congresses, seminars or anything else that the FFF holds shall be more expensive for individuals that are not members of the FFF and for members that have not paid their membership fees.
Members that have not paid there membership fees can not vote during the General Assembly.
If a member has not paid the membership fees for two years in a row then she/he will be removed from the membership list and sent notification there of.
Article 8
These laws take president on the first general assembly. A proposed amendment of these Bylaws should be sent to the Board no less then 10 days before the general assembly and shall be sent to all members when possible. Proposals are then processed during the assembly.
All actions shall be decided by the majority.
Article 10
Should there be a proposal to resolve the FFF a vote of 2/3 of voting members is needed during two consecutive Assemblies.
Should there be a consensus to resolve the FFF then the Assembly decides what shall be done with the monies of the association should there be any.
These by laws took effect after changes agreed on by the General Assembly on the 19. of April. 2005.
